Birth Control Facts

There are many different birth control methods available today. All of these birth control methods can help prevent pregnancy. Additionally, some of these methods will help protect you from HIV infection (the virus that causes AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

This Birth Control Information chart provides some basic information on the birth control methods currently available. You may want to discuss these with your healthcare professional to determine what birth control methods are right for you.

Keep in mind that the effectiveness of any birth control method is based on "perfect use", which means the birth control method is used as directed each and every time.
